So far, we have given you two other installments of our excellent ideas for things that can liven up any bridal shower (we’ll give you those links at the end of this article). In our first installment, we gave you ideas on how to get the party started, and in the second, we told you why it is a really, really good idea to organize a couple of professionals to come to the shower and do wedding hair and makeup makeovers at the party as a dry-run to help everything come together.
One of the benefits of being a high-end boutique hair salon in Charleston, is you get to hear about so many great wedding related ideas while handling the hair and makeup of brides, maid of honors, and bride’s maids. Lately, we have been hearing some great ideas on to affordably decorate for bridal showers, and also some great things you can do for bridal shower keepsakes.
There are so many things that you can get crafty with and repurpose to make beautiful, affordable, and personalized decorations to help set the mood and atmosphere at the bridal shower you are organizing. Here are just a few examples:
Bottles Are Beautiful!
Spraypainted Wine Bottles – You can soak some wine bottles in warm water to cleanly remove the labels and adhesive used to attach them. Then simply rattle-can the bottles with the brides favorite colors! Metallic colors like copper, gold, silver, and platinum make wonderful flower vases to use as table decorations.
Champagne and Glitter – If you are looking to kill two birds with one stone, get a case of mini-champagne bottles and once again remove the labels. Brush the clean bottles with crafts glue and liberally cover them with glitter (choose a color that matches your theme!). Add a cute tag and not only do these bottles work as seat assignment cards but also as keepsakes that the guests can take home … or drink up on the spot!
Signed Champagne Bottle – A great keepsake for the bride-to-be is a bottle of champagne that has been brushed with chalkboard paint. This way, all of the friends can sign the bottle with short messages of well-wishing.
More Crafty Awesomeness!
Flower Chandelier – A DIY Flower Chandelier makes a beautiful bridal shower decoration, and it gives you a chance to showcase your thoughtfulness and craftiness! You basically just need an embroidery hoop, some lace, ribbon, glue, flowers, and a bit of time. Get the tutorial here!
Advice Spoons – This is a super simple, yet thoughtful and wonderful gift and keepsake for the bride-to-be. Get a bunch of wooden spoons and have each guest write a little piece of love or life advice (or pretty much anything at all that they feel like writing) on the head of one spoon each. This makes a group gift that everyone gets to take a part in, writing on and decorating their spoon in their own way so that the bride-to-be gets a mason jar full of personalized messages and advice from all walks of life!
Floating Memories – Get together with the groom and your mutual friends and scour your archives for some great memories, especially those that have the bride and groom-to-be. Instead of displaying the pictures in frames or a scrap book, hang them with decorative ribbon from helium-inflated balloons that match your color scheme for an entrancing effect.
These are just a few ways to spice up the decor at your bridal shower and if you check our other articles, you should have some great ideas on putting together a brilliant bridal shower that your friends will remember forever!
