The Truths About Getting Ready for Your Wedding Day
The moment you tie the know with the person you plan on spending the rest of your life with will be one of the most memorable times of your life. That being said, you will experience another memorable experience on that same day and that is getting your event hair and makeup done with your wedding party. The day is filled with joy, drinks, and selfies, but there are also so many more truths that go into this time that no one really tells you about. Well, you are in luck because professionals at Charleston hair and makeup got together to come up with a few of these truths, so you can come prepared.
Early Start
Think about it: if you have a bridal party of ten girls and a team of 2 to 3 stylists, then it is going to take some time to make sure everyone is looking stunning. Beauty takes time and that applies even more on the day you tie the know. This creates for a long day but totally worth it. You and your bridal party should soak in every special moment before the ceremony.
There is a Pecking Order
Because you will most likely not have a stylist for every bridesmaid to get their event hair and makeup done at the same time, there will be a specific order to who gets theirs done when. More than likely, the bride will want to go last so that their hair and makeup will be perfect for portraits right before the walk down the aisle. The maid of honor typically will go as close to last as they can and that leaves the rest of the bridesmaids to figure out the time slots. However, there is no need to panic if you have the earliest time, there will more than likely be time for touch-ups if something is to happen.
Makeup First
At Charleston Hair and Makeup, we try and do all of our makeup before having the wedding party get their hair done. This is to avoid your hairdo from getting messed up if it has to be moved to apply your makeup. This is not a major issue if you have to get your hair done first, but if you can get your face put on first.
It Gets Emotional
On the happiest day of your life, prepare to get a little emotional while sitting in the salon with some of your closest friends. You are getting ready to walk down the aisle to meet with the love of your life surrounded by your favorite people, of course, there are going to be some tears shed. Only happy tears though. Be sure to keep the tissues handy and opt-in for a waterproof mascara to avoid runny black eyes. You may want to get a little touch up after a good emotional cry with your favorite people too, just right before you walk down the aisle.
