Now that we are riding the Fall/Winter cusp, let’s look at some hair and makeup trends from the Fall/Winter shows that us grown-ups and working professionals should be paying attention to. The looks that we saw at most of the shows, seemed more grown-up than previous seasons … and even previous years, but here are a few of those trends we noticed that really seemed to reach across the barriers of multiple different shows, designers, and stylists.
At the 2015 Fall/Winter Marc Jacobs shows, the lips were all pale pinks, deep berry colors, plums, and cozy blush tones. There was hardly a red lip in the house. Instead of going for those bolder, statement lips, these colors tend to lend better to an overall look, especially when similar tones were brought lightly into the cheeks.

Knots Not Out, Updos Are In!
The updo has been running rampant during this season’s shows. Top-knots, Messy Chignons, and French-girl buns … and we are not just speaking of a mere smattering of updos. We’re talking, Vera Wang, Marc Jacob, Isabel Marant, Gorgio Armani, and the list goes on.
Many of the updo ensembles were made perfect with the softer lips we spoke of above coupled with a smokey eye.
Over and over again we saw that the stylists were bringing back the whips and giving up a lashing of mascara. In previous seasons, we’ve seen stylists trend away from this, opting for clean eyes instead, but this season, they went layer after carefully laid layer to create beautifully textured eyes, without using extensions.
Matte Barrettes & Rich-Girl Hair
Get ready to make an appointment at your favorite hair salon, because beautiful, luxurious blow-outs were on display at various shows. The rich-girl beauty trend is still going strong through fall, but hair and makeup stylist put a soft and elegant twist on the costly-looking blow-outs by accessorizing with matte barrettes.
